What to do

  1. Make different sized hearts from the various red papers and fabrics (selected by your children).
  2. A quick way to make a heart is to cut out a rough square shape to the required size of the heart, fold in half and cut out half a heart (its line of symmetry being at the fold of the square). When you unfold the shape you will get a symmetrical heart shape.
  3. Hand over the hearts to your children to stick on the card as they will. They might layer-up the hearts too by gluing a smaller heart on top of a larger one of contrasting material.
  4. Sticking tip - count to ten whilst holding the hearts in place. It really gives the glue a chance to take.
  5. When the card is bursting with hearts, you’ve finished.
